Frank Sims joined as a member in the early 1980's. Frank shot actively in the 1980's and early 1990's. He was known for his unorthodox style of Barebow shooting, in that when everyone else was “string walking”, Frank was “face walking”.  At that time, he was considered to be one of the top Barebow competitors. 

Frank was also instrumental in the electrical work on the outdoor practice range in 1983, the lighting of the outdoor #1-14 target range in 1984, the construction of the indoor range in 1985 and the underground re-wiring of the #1-14 target and practice ranges in the 1990's.

Frank also provided us with those famous moving targets at our “Annual 3D Shoot” in September of each year. Frank was ultimately bestowed a Lifetime Membership in 1992.

Shortly before his death in 2003, Obissquasoit Bowmen presented Frank a plaque for his many years of dedication, untiring hours of hard work, inventiveness and ingenuity on so many projects at the club and for making our annual 3D shoot not only exciting, and successful, but most of all, a memorable experience.

Obissquasoit Bowmen officially renamed the “Annual 3D Shoot” event to the “FRANK SIMS FALL 3D SPECTACULAR”  in honor of Frank. The plaque is behind the clubhouse at the top of the trail at the beginning of target #1.
